    Govt Announces Paid Internships and 64 SHA Job Vacancies for Graduates – Here’s How to Apply

    If you're a recent graduate or a professional looking for your next job, here’s some good news. The government has opened applications for paid internships under the Public Service Commission (PSC). Also the Social Health Authority (SHA) has also announced 64 job vacancies.

    In a notice dated Tuesday, July 29, which is today, PSC invited eligible graduates to apply for internship opportunities in various government ministries, state departments, state corporations, and public universities. 

    According to their release, the program, which will run for 12 months, is designed to give young Kenyans practical experience of working within the public sector. 

    Those who will be selected for the internship positions will be paid a monthly salary which has not yet been determined.

    Who Can Apply for the PSC Internship?

    To qualify for the PSC internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • Hold a degree from a recognized university (any course is accepted)
    • They must have graduated between 2018 and 2025
    • Have knowledge in computer applications

    All the applications have been directed to be submitted through the official PSC portal. The deadline for applications is August 18, 2025.

    SHA Opens 64 Job Opportunities for Professionals

    In other news, the Social Health Authority has advertised 64 job openings for directors and deputy directors across different SHA departments. The roles are suited for professionals in areas such as:

    • Legal services
    • Corporate communications
    • Customer experience
    • Internal audit
    • Compliance and other administrative functions

    These positions require more than academic qualifications. Applicants must also provide standard government clearance documents, such as:

    • A Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
    • Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
    • Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) clearance certificate
    • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) clearance
    • A Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) report

    In addition, SHA applicants are required to submit:

    • A detailed CV
    • Copies of academic and professional certificates
    • A cover letter tailored to the position applied for

    How to Apply for SHA Jobs

    Interested candidates can apply online using the SHA recruitment portal, or deliver their applications physically to the SHA Building, 10th floor. It is a requirement that all envelopes must clearly indicate the specific job title being applied for.

    The deadline for SHA applications is August 19, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.
