Salaries in Kenya by Job Groups as per SRC 2026

    Job Market Insights
Salaries in Kenya by Job Groups as per SRC 2026

Understanding salary allocation according to job groups is a crucial aspect of financial education, especially when securing employment.

In Kenya, job group A employees are the lowest-paid government workers, earning a basic monthly salary of Ksh. 13,280, while those in job group T receive the highest, at Ksh. 169,140.

Like in most parts of the world, job groups in Kenya are classified based on education level, skill set, and certification. Many Kenyan graduates aspire to secure government jobs, which fall under the Public Service Commission (PSC).

The Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) is responsible for determining and reviewing public service salaries to ensure fairness and equity.

In 2026, Mrs. Lyn Cherop Mengich is the chairperson of SRC. This article will present comprehensive information regarding how much different kenyans earn based on their job groups.

Just before you go through the list, it is important to note that each public servant in Kenya receives a basic salary, a house allowance, and a commuter allowance. Other allowances, such as hardship and disability allowances, apply depending on duty stations and working conditions.
